Schedule: 2020-ongoing
The design proposal targets two key goals: on the one hand, to create simple architectural forms capable of shaping a new urban tissue; on the other hand, to build a new system of collective spaces connecting those neighborhoods of Segrate that today are still isolated. The masterplan includes the construction of a school complex for 700 students, a new market place, three different public green parks, and 10 000 m2 of mixed-use buildings. The project will provide the planting of 400 new trees, the extension of the existing soft mobility network and the regeneration of the existing public spaces. All the building proposed within the masterplan will be built in wood, by using locally-sourced, organic materials.
