Masterplan
Commisioned study
2018-2019
The project site is a 2 hectares former industrial land at the heart of the “plain de l’Ourq”, one of the most important territory of the Greater Paris in terms of future urban development. The site holds a remarkable potential, since it will soon benefit from the multimodal transport hub that will shortly be built in Bobigny.
The masterplan was designed by developing three main themes:
Urban porosity
Mixed land use
Qualitative public spaces
Eventually the new porous urban fabric creates a link between the Canal de l’Ourcq and the Rue de Paris, a major metropolitan infrastructure connecting Paris to the outskirts. Moreover, a system of inner streets links the different public spaces, by allowing cycleways and footpaths to pass through the buildings. Specific attention was given to the juxtaposition of various functional program (housing, restaurants, services, schools, cultural facilities, offices) in order to create a vibrant urban centre.
