“Vierhavensblock” is a common soil where the stratification of history, local initiatives, community engagement and future ambitions. Consequentially the challenge we have addressed was not to build a brand-new district, but rather to “stimulate” what is already there. The main goal of our proposal is to unlock the social and economic potential of the project site, by developing a model for inclusive growth, financially achievable and replicable in other areas by the river. Viernahavensblock should become an urban laboratory where to produce an open, porous and productive ecosystem, introducing a new model of living and working together.
