What do we imagine when we think about Europe? The freedom to travel, study, work and live anywhere in the EU.
Nevertheless, intra-EU mobility is extremely low. Only 3.1% of the EU working age citizens live in a Member State different from the one of their nationality. The functioning of the housing market is amongst the different obstacles that cause this stasis. ON CITIES presents an alternative hotel typology to boost european labour mobilty.

How can we design more flexible, sustainable and cost-effective, short-stay buildings for the European mobile workers?

How can we use architecture to develop new ways of living and working togheter in Europe?

The Europe Hotel would encourage and support the construction of a pan-European, cross-border community.
