/ BOBIGNY, GREATER PARIS
/ COMMISIONED STUDY
The project site is a 2 hectares former industrial land at the heart of the “plain de l’ourq”, one of the most important territory of the Greater Paris in terms of future urban development. The site has a huge potential, since it will benefit from the multimodal transport hub that will shortly be built in Bobigny.
The masterplan was designed by developing three main themes:
Mixed land use
Qualitative public spaces
Eventually the new porous urban fabric creates a link between the canal and the Rue de Paris, one of the main metropolitan roads. Moreover, a system of inner streets links the different public spaces, by allowing cycleways and footpaths to pass through the buildings. Specific attention was given to the juxtaposition of various functional program (housing, restaurants, services, schools, cultural facilities, offices) in order to create a vibrant urban centre.
